Congratulations to all the winners of the 9th Ernie Basso Memorial Roping

Basso’s Arena welcomed 516 teams, which was a good turnout considering the weather and the economy. Despite the severe cold and windy conditions, the ropers and families stayed in the game and made it a great roping.  They would have made our great friend, Ernie Basso, proud.

Basso’s Arena and staff send out heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all the ropers and their families for their patience when the computer system went down. With the help of Terrence Costa, Mike Osgood, Melissa Blach, and Bobby DeMaria, we were able to re-enter all the teams.   Our apologies to everyone.

Big Thank You to Daria Mendoza and Sandy Basso for making great food at the Longhorn Café and then helping out in the Barn with the BBQ along with Sharon Haera, Susan Cerini, Cindy Dovik, Jeana Dotson. Thanks go out to all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Charlie & I could not have done this without your great support.

After the roping, Basso’s Arena hosted a delicious Rib & Chicken BBQ with all the fixings and fed about 350 people in the cozy barn.  Winners of the door prizes were Gus Rodriguez, Trevor, Jr.Gonzales, Ryan Baxter, Michelle Casillas, Sandy Basso, Nick Compaglia, Wendy Frazier, Tim Lindahl, Morgan Baptista, Armonda Perez, Julie Blach, Michelle Baptista, Jr. Mendoza, Frank Nunes, Greg Reeger, Kellie Mackin, Bob Blach, Trager Abatti, Lucy, Stan Williams, Kara Hooper, Larry Rodriguez, Austin Condit, and Rylie Baptista.
